Get the version and build of the VMware you are using with Deep Security.
This is useful when Trend Micro Technical Support is requesting for detailed information about your VMware infrastructure.
Do the following:
- Connect to your ESX/ESXi server via Putty.
- After successfully connecting to an ESX host, open the command prompt.
- To get the VMware version, type "vmware –l" and press ENTER. Below is a sample output of the command:
VMware ESXi 5.0.0 Update 1
VMware ESXi 4.1.0 Update 2
- For the build, type "vmware –v" and press ENTER. Below is a sample output of the command:
VMware ESXi 4.1.0 build-582267
VMware ESXi 5.0.0 build-623860
