- Create a new Local Admin or Domain User account with Local Admin rights in the PortalProtect server.
- Log in using your old service account. Export and save in C:\ the following registry key:
[HKLM\SOFTWARE\TrendMicro\PortalProtect]
- Stop the following PortalProtect (PP) services:
- PortalProtect_Master
- PortalProtect_SystemWatcher
- Configure any PP services that use the old service account to log in with the new service account.
- Open Administrative Tools > Services.
- Double-click a PP service that has “Log On” as the PP service account name. Click the Log On tab.
- Select the This account option and then type the new service account name that you created in Step 1.
- In the Password and Confirm Password fields, type the new service account password.
- Click Apply and then click OK.
- Repeat the steps for each of the remaining services that have “Log On” as the old PP service account name.
- Log in using the new service account and import the registry keys saved in C:\.
- Make sure that [HKLM\SOFTWARE\TrendMicro\PortalProtect] exists in the machine’s registry.
- Start the following PP services:
- PortalProtect_Master
- PortalProtect_SystemWatcher
