You might experience performance issues with a SPNAF 5.8 Normal Server that is installed on a Windows 2008 Server with Dual Core functionality.
To improve the performance, add UseSM and PagingEnable key to the Registry:
- Open the Registry Editor and back your Registry.
- Add UseSMDWORD key by:
- Locate and select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\VSApiNt\Parameters.
- On the Edit menu, select New, and then select DWORD.
- Type "UseSM" as its name.
- Double-click UseSM, type "1" in the Value date box, and then click OK.
This allows VsAPINt to use the system memory. In most system, especially in multi-processor system, the system performance could be better.
- Add PagingEnable DWORD key by:
- Locate and select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\TmFilter\Parameters.
- On the Edit menu, select New, and then select DWORD.
- Type "PagingEnable" as its name.
- Double-click PagingEnable, type "0" in the Value date box, and then click OK.
This is for pattern paging.
- Reboot the machine.
- Check if there is a change in performance.
