To improve the performance, add UseSM and PagingEnable key to the Registry:

  1. Open the Registry Editor and back your Registry.
  2. Add UseSMDWORD key by:
    1. Locate and select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\VSApiNt\Parameters.
    2. On the Edit menu, select New, and then select DWORD.
    3. Type "UseSM" as its name.
    4. Double-click UseSM, type "1" in the Value date box, and then click OK.

This allows VsAPINt to use the system memory. In most system, especially in multi-processor system, the system performance could be better.

  3. Add PagingEnable DWORD key by:
    1. Locate and select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\TmFilter\Parameters.
    2. On the Edit menu, select New, and then select DWORD.
    3. Type "PagingEnable" as its name.
    4. Double-click PagingEnable, type "0" in the Value date box, and then click OK.

    This is for pattern paging.

  4. Reboot the machine.
  5. Check if there is a change in performance.
