Details
Below are the known issues and limitations when creating an AB exclusion and the workaround:
- The AB exception feature (AD Integration) only works on Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2010 transport level. It does not work on Exchange 2003, Exchange 2007, and Exchange 2010 store level.
- The attachment is passed by an exception rule and can be blocked by store level scan (MS/SS/Store level real time scan).
- Complicated exception rule settings will influence the performance. The trigger of the AB exception rule leads to mail splitting. This means one incoming mail becomes two or more after SMEX scans it. The trigger is determined by the account and the target.
As a workaround, disable AB scanning on the store level. This is recommended because there is a chance that an exempted file in the transport level will be be blocked in the store level.
