Learn how to add a user or group and import multiple users in HMS.
Details
To add users:
- Click Users > {group} > Add user icon
.
- Update the following as required:
- Email ID: This address will be used to communicate with the user and will also be the user's logon ID.
- Name
- Group: The group determines the policies associated with the user and his/her devices.
- Role: Administrators can manage HMS, manage other users and their devices, and use the end-user portal. Users can only use the end-user portal and manage their own devices.
- Exchange account: The domain and username are required to provision Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync for the user.
- Click Save.
Instead of adding users individually, you can import multiple users to save time. Use the template to update basic user information and add many users at once.
- Go to Users > Import Users. The Import Users window will open.
- Download and save the CSV template to a convenient location.
- Open the CSV file using a spreadsheet application. You can use Microsoft Excel or OpenOffice.
- Update the file in the specified format.
- Save the CSV file.
- On the Import Users window, click Choose CSV File to select the CSV file.
- Click Next.
- Review the import. The system will validate the records automatically and show the records that need your attention.
- Click Create Accounts. This will add the users.
- Click Finish to save the users without inviting them. You can also click Invite the imported users to enroll to send the users an enrollment invitation.
