Update the ActiveX control component of WFBS, AtxConsole.ocx, to resolve issues such as the following:
- Cannot access the web console
- Cannot run web installation due to incorrect ActiveX control settings
To resolve the issue, do any of the following:
For Internet Explorer Version 6
- Open Internet Explorer.
- Go to Tools > Internet Options.
- Click the General tab.
- Under Temporary Internet Files, click the Settings tab.
- Click the View Objects tab.
- On the Downloaded Program Files window, right-click each program file, and then select Properties.
- For each program file that shows "Trend Micro" in the Company field, right-click the file and select Remove.
- Delete cookies and temporary Internet files.
- Log on to the WFBS console.
For Internet Explorer Version 7
- Open Internet Explorer.
- Go to Tools > Manage Add-ons > Enable or Disable Add-ons.
- Under Manage Add-ons, choose Downloaded ActiveX Controls from the Show: drop-down box.
x64-bits: Downloaded ActiveX Controls (32-bits) - For each row that shows "Trend Micro, Inc." in the Publisher field, select Disable/Delete.
- Delete cookies and temporary Internet files.
- Log on to the WFBS console.
For Internet Explorer Version 8
- Open Internet Explorer.
- Go to Tools > Internet Options.
- Click the General tab.
- Under Browsing history, click the Settings tab.
- Click the View Objects tab.
- On the Downloaded Program Files window, right-click each program file, and then select Properties.
- For each program file that shows "Trend Micro, Inc." in the Digital Signatures tab, right-click the file and select Delete.
Before deleting a file, close all IE applications. - Log on to the WFBS console.
For Internet Explorer Version 9
- Open Internet Explorer.
- Go to Tools > Internet Options.
- Click the General tab.
- Under Browsing history, click the Delete tab.
- Delete ActiveX Filtering and Tracking Protection data.
- Log on to the WFBS console.
- Open a command prompt, and then go to %Security Server%\Web_SMB\Web_console\HTML\root.
The following are the default paths:- For 32-bit: C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\Security Server\PCCSRV\Web_SMB\Web_console\HTML\root
- For 64-bit: C:\Program Files(x86)\Trend Micro\Security Server\PCCSRV\Web_SMB\Web_console\HTML\root
- Type “regsvr32 /u AtxConsole.ocx”, and then press ENTER. This unregisters AtxConsole.ocx.
- Log on to the WFBS console.
If the issue persists, restart the machine, and then log on again.
