This issue happens when the SQL server is not installed on drive C. When you install the patch, the installer assumes that the SQL server sqlcmd utility is located in C:\ProgramFiles\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Tools\Binn\SQLCMD.EXE. If the file is not found, then the installer stops with the error messages mentioned above.
To resolve this:
  1. Download fix.zip to a backup location and extract the files setup_db.py and setup_base.py.
  2. Start the patch installation.
  3. During the extraction of files, go to <install drive>:\Program files\TrendMicro\Threat Intelligence Manager directory.
  4. As soon as the .setup folder is created, replace the following files inside the .setup folder with the files that you extracted in Step 1:
    • setup_db.py
    • setup_base.py
    Installation will be successful as long as the files were replaced prior to the start of the actual installation process.
  5. After the installation, check if the zgsolr.ini file is located in C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\Threat Intelligence Manager\tomcat\solrmgr\conf\ directory.
    If the file is in the said directory, proceed to Step 6. If not, skip step 6 and proceed to step 7.
  6. Move the Solr data directory to the correct drive:
    1. Open the command prompt and run the following command:
      :\Program Files\Trend Micro\Threat Intelligence Manager\bin tm_ctl stop
    2. Exit command prompt and go to <install drive>:\Program Files\Trend Micro\Threat Intelligence Manager\tomcat\solrmgr\conf\ and open the zgsolr.ini file using Notepad.
    3. Look for the following line:
      DataDir= C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\Threat Intelligence Manager\data\eventstore
    4. Replace “C:” with the correct drive. For example:
      DataDir= E:\Program Files\Trend Micro\Threat Intelligence Manager\data\eventstore
    5. Go to <install drive>:\Program Files\Trend Micro\Threat Intelligence Manager\tomcat\ and delete the solrS0 folder.
    6. Open the command prompt and run the following command:
      <install drive>:\Program Files\Trend Micro\Threat Intelligence Manager\bin tm_ctl start
  7. To verify if the issue is resolved, access the TIM console.
If the issue persists, contact Trend Micro Technical Support.
