OfficeScan clients are querying the global WRS server instead of the local SmartScan server

Summary
You noticed that most of the OfficeScan (OSCE) clients are going over the Internet to query the global Web Reputation service (WRS) instead of querying the local SmartScan server. This leads to an increase in Internet bandwidth consumption.
Further investigation reveals that machines with unspecified gateway IPs in the computer location of the OSCE console are the ones querying the external WRS site.

Do the following:
  1. Log on to the OSCE web console.
  2. Click Networked Computers > Computer Location.
  3. Enter the IP address of your internal gateway and click Add.

    Note: Client computers will be considered as internal or external based on the gateway IP addresses you set.
  4. Click Save.
