The failure is caused by unsuccessful removal of the Symantec LiveUpdate 3.3.0.85.

To resolve the issue, do any of the following:

Solution 1

  1. Uninstall Symantec LiveUpdate 3.3.0.85.
  2. Install the WFBS agent.
  3. Install Symantec LiveUpdate 3.3.0.85 again.

Solution 2

  1. Open the tmuninst.ptn file in the <Trend Micro folder>\Security Server\PCCSRV\Admin directory.
  2. Add semicolon (;) infront of the lines below:

    ;[Symantec LiveUpdate 3.3.0.85]
    ;ProductKey = HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Symantec\SharedUsage
    ;UninstallKey = HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\LiveUpdate
    ;Platform = Win95 | Win98 | WinNT
    ;UnloadProgram = GenericUnload
    ;UninstProduct = UninstLU16430
    ;Support = 0

  3. Save and close the file.
  4. Recreate the client package.
  5. Install the WFBS agent again using the recreated client package.

Since certain Symantec antivirus software uses the Symantec LiveUpdate 3.3.0.85, you need to follow the steps above to be able to automatically uninstall the Symantec Antivirus software.
