    • Updated:
    • 7 Oct 2014
    • Product/Version:
    • OfficeScan 10.6
    • Platform:
    • Windows 2003 Enterprise
Summary
When OSCE 10.6 is deployed using silent installation on Windows Server 2003 and no user is logged on/the default system account is used, the installation will fail.

The issue occurs under the following circumstances:
Note: All conditions must be met.
  1. This issue occurs only on Windows Server 2003, not 2008 or later.
  2. This may occur when no user logged on to the system. System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) was used during deployment which doesn't require a user login to launch the silent installation.
  3. Command type TMHF_ RunAtHideDialog is used on hotfix.ini.
  4. OfficeScan was deployed using silent installation.
Note: The TMHF_ RunAtHideDialog command type exists only on SP2, not SP1.
To fix this issue, the current workaround is to update hotfix.ini before deployment:
  1. Open hotfix.ini.
  2. Comment out all “Run*.CommandType=TMHF_ RunAtHideDialog” by adding a semicolon at the beginning of the line and save.
    Example:
    ; Run1.CommandType=TMHF_RunAtHideDialog
  3. Start the deployment.
