Summary
When users are logged into a machine using a Guest account, Real-time Scan is stopped or disabled and the OfficeScan (OSCE) icon is red.
Details
This occurs because the following rules are applied when using a Guest account:
- A password is not required.
- You cannot install hardware and software.
- You cannot change the Guest account type.
- You cannot create a password for the account.
- You cannot access the applications that are already installed on the computer.
- You cannot access the files in the Shared Documents folder.
- You cannot access the files in the Guest profile.

To properly manage Guest accounts:
- Disable the Guest account.
- Create another account and change its name to 'Guest'.
- Add it to the Guests group.
By default, Guests and Users group have similar access rights, unlike the Guest account which is restricted by Microsoft.
