Upgrading the SafeSync client on Windows can be done in any of the following procedures:

Option 1:

  1. Launch SafeSync client.
  2. Login to SafeSync 2.1 server using a valid user account.

    A pop-up message will prompt you that the client will need to download an upgrade package first before you can access your files again.

  3. Click Accept to upgrade the application.
  4. Follow the prompts to finish upgrading SafeSync client.
  5. After the upgrade, login to SafeSync again.

Option 2:

  1. Open a web browser and connect to:

    http://<SSFE_Server_Address/pages/en/smartdrive

  2. Download the installer for Windows executable package (not the MSI) and save it to a local disk.
  3. Run the installer and follow the prompt to finish upgrading SafeSync client.

Option 3:

  1. Uninstall SafeSync client from Windows Control Panel or Add/Remove Programs.
  2. Download the MSI package installer from:

    http://<SSFE_Server_Address/pages/en/smartdrive

  3. Run the installer and follow the prompt to finish upgrading SafeSync client.
  4. Login to SafeSync. Files will re-sync automatically.
