"@imsva.(server name)" appears on the Recipient or CC field of an email in InterScan Messaging Security Virtual Appliance (IMSVA)

When you send an email with a wrong format, the recipient will see "@imsva.(server name)" on the Recipient or CC field. Below is an example:

@imsva.servername on the CC or Recipient field

To resolve the issue, prevent Postfix from automatically adding the FQDN.

  1. Open the command line interface of the IMSVA logged in as root.
  2. Go to /opt/trend/imss/etc/postfix.
  3. Edit main.cf using the "vi main.cf" command.
  4. Press letter I to insert a text and add the entry "append_to_myorigin = no" anywhere on the main.cf.
  5. Press ESC and wq!, and then press ENTER to save the changes.
  6. Restart the Postfix by typing "Postfix Restart", and then press ENTER.
  7. Send a test email. The "@[imsva server name]" should not appear.
