To resolve the issue:
  1. Go to the Standalone Smart Protection Server command console.
  2. Login as 'root'
  3. Verify the permission of /var/lib/php/session directory by running the command below:

    #ls -ld /var/lib/php/session/
    Note: The owner and group should be webserv:webserv. 
  4. Change the owner:group of the folder

    #chown -R webserv:webserv /var/lib/php/session/
  5. Run this command to restart the lighttpd service

    #service lighttpd restart
  6. Access the Smart Protection Server Web Console.
