Configuring FileZilla and WinSCP to use InterScan Web Security Virtual Appliance (IWSVA) for FTP file transfer

Configure the FileZilla and WinSCP clients so that FTP file transfer will pass through IWSVA.

Expand the sections to view the steps on how to configure FileZilla or WinSCP to use IWSVA for FTP file transfer:

  1. Open the FileZilla Client.
  2. In the main window, click Edit > Settings.
  3. In the Settings window, click Connection > FTP > FTP Proxy.
  4. Under Type of FTP Proxy, select USER@HOST.
  5. Type the IWSVA IP address in the Proxy host field.
  6. Click OK.

FileZilla will now use IWSVA as FTP proxy host.

  1. Open the WinSCP Client.
  2. Create a new session or select an existent one then go to Advanced Site Settings > Connection > Proxy.
  3. Set the following:

    • Proxy Type: select USER %user@%host from the dropdown list.
    • Proxy host name: enter IWSVA-IP or IWSVA FQDN
    • Port field: enter 21.
  4. Click OK.
