After a successful update, dbintegrity.exe is invoked and has been running for a long time, from 1/8 18:52 to 1/9 05:44.

dbintegrity.exe has a timeout for 4 hours.

AU.exe didn't terminate dbintegrity.exe during the timeout. During this period, all update request failed because the dbintegrity check was still running.

It seems that doing a database related action is very slow in this server.

To resolve the issue, perform a vacuum to reduce the database size.

  1. Make sure that that free space in Drive C is more than 2GB.
  2. Create a backup of the C:\Program Files (x86)\Trend Micro\Security Server\PCCSRV\wss\AU.ini file.
  3. Edit the C:\Program Files (x86)\Trend Micro\Security Server\PCCSRV\wss\AU.ini with the following values:

    Set UseAUSchedule = 0

  4. Open cmd.exe using an adminstrator account.
  5. Run the command "net stop TMiCRCScanService".
  6. Run the command "net start TMiCRCScanService".
  7. Open the Task Manager.
  8. Check if "updatepattern.exe", "importmanager.exe", or "dbintegrity.exe" are running. If yes, stop these processes.
  9. Download do_vacuum.zip.
  10. Copy the do_vacuum.bat file to the C:\Program Files (x86)\Trend Micro\Security Server\PCCSRV\wss\spsc\bin folder.
  11. Go to the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Trend Micro\Security Server\PCCSRV\wss\spsc\bin" directory in cmd.
  12. Run the following commands:

    do_vacuum.bat
    ..\log\vacuum.log

    This may take several hours.

  13. Edit the C:\Program Files (x86)\Trend Micro\Security Server\PCCSRV\wss\AU.ini file with the following value:

    Set UseAUSchedule = 1

  14. Run the following commands:

    net stop TMiCRCScanService
    net start TMiCRCScanService

  15. Perform a manual update again from the web console.
