Web console of Endpoint Application Control (EAC) shows the backend server as offline

The backend server is displayed as unavailable in the EAC web console.
Details
Public
Do the following:
  1. Verify that the backend services are started and running.
    1. Make sure that the Trend Micro Endpoint Application Control Server Service is running.
    2. Open http://localhost:[backend-port]/acserver/ in a browser.
    If the service fails, contact Trend Micro Technical Support and submit the logs located on the following:
    • $ProductPath/AcServer/logs/*.log
    • $ProductPath/AcServer-Data/logs/*.log
  2. Open a console and enter "ping localhost" to verify that the "localhost" resolves to "127.0.0.1".
  3. Perform one of the following depending on the result of the previous step:
    • If the IPv4 stack is available, add or replace the entry for "localhost" with "127.0.0.1 localhost" in windir%\System32\drivers\etc\hosts.
    • If only the IPv6 stack is enabled, which means the IPv4 is disabled, manually apply the following settings:
      • On TMEAC_INSTALL_DIR\WebUI\WebApp\tmeac\protected\config\main.php, change the IP address from "127.0.0.1" to "[::1]" in 'acsWsBaseUrl' 'http://127.0.0.1:8085/acserver/'. The result should be similar to the following:
        'http://[::1]:8085/acserver/'
      • On %windir%\System32\drivers\etc\hosts, add or replace the entry "localhost" with the following:
        ::1 localhost
  4. Verify that "localhost" resolves to "::1".
  5. Restart the backend and verify that it runs.
