Summary
You encounter BSOD while the EAC agent is running.
Details
The BSOD may happen because of the following factors:
- Rule/policy to deny applications that are required for the Operating System (OS) to run properly
- TMCSSS pattern used by EAC
To resolve the issue:
- Make sure that the machine is in the correct working state.
- Start the computer in Windows Safe Mode and set 'Trend Micro Endpoint Application Control Agent Service' service on manual start.
- Restart the machine. The agent won't run because the service is set to manual.
- Change the policy. Note: You cannot change the policy unless you perform Step 1.
- Option 1: Change the rule to Assessment mode.
- Option 2: Update the rule if this has been set for a specific application.
- Option 3: Disable the Application Control feature within the target list for the specific machine/user.
- Option 4: If the problem occurs because of a mistake within the TMCSSS pattern, submit a support case to Trend Micro Technical Support to help with the pattern problem. Prepare a CDT log of the agent to help in finding the pattern conflict.
