Do the following:
  1. Go to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\Client Server Security Agent and locate the ofcscan.ini file. Create a backup copy before editing the file.
    Note: On a 64-bit installation, go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Trend Micro\Client Server Security Agent.
  2. Open the file and look for [INI_CLIENT_SETUP_SECTION]. Look for the following entries:
    NT_RUN_KEY=OfficeScanNT Monitor
    NT_RUN_KEY_FILE_NAME=pccntmon.exe
    Change the entries to:
    NT_RUN_KEY=
    NT_RUN_KEY_FILE_NAME=
  3. Save the changes.
  4. Open the Registry Editor (regedit.exe).
    Important: Making incorrect changes to your registry can cause serious system problems. Always back it up before making any changes. Should issues occur with your system, refer to the "Restore the registry" help topic in regedit.exe or regedt32.exe.
  5. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run.
    Note: On a 64-bit installation, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run.
  6. Delete the value of OfficeScanNT Monitor.
  7. Close the Reigstry Editor.
  8. Copy a shortcut of Client-Server Security Agent to the Startup folder. While logged in using an account under the administrator's group, go to Start > All Programs > Trend Micro Client-Server Security Agent.
    For Server 2003, paste the shortcut here:
    %userprofile%\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
    For Server 2008 or 2012, paste the shortcut here:
    %appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
Note: Repeat this procedure with additional administrative user accounts as needed. When the Security Agent connects to the Internet through a proxy setting, make sure you log in using an account under the administrator's group at least once to get the proxy setting through pccntmon.exe. As a result, the Security Agent correctly connects to the Internet while you log in using a non-admin user account.
