After entering your username and password on the EUQ console, you get the following message:
“Unable to log on. The connection to the server was unsuccessful. Please contact your administrator.”
The problem occurs when you use the SMTP Server for EUQ Authentication option when logging in to the EUQ console." This is found under IMSVA Console > Administration > End-User Quarantine > EUQ Management > Enable EUQ Feature.
To resolve the issue, check if "AUTH PLAIN LOGIN" is present on the commands list:
- Select a managed domain.
Telnet to the managed domain on port 25.
Enter the command “EHLO trend.com”.
Check if "AUTH PLAIN LOGIN" is on the list.
For the SMTP Authentication to work, "AUTH PLAIN LOGIN" should be on the available commands list.
- If not present, contact your mail server administrator to add “AUTH PLAIN LOGIN” to the list.
