Using the correct Mail Exchange (MX) record for Cloud Pre-filter service in InterScan Messaging Security Virtual Appliance (IMSVA)

You want to find out the new Mail Exchange (MX) record for Cloud Pre-filter service and why the old MX record has been changed.

The previous Mail Exchange (MX) record for pre-filter domain was my149.com.e0051.g0006.ng0090.im.emailsecurity.trendmicro.eu. The Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) was too long and caused issues in the Domain Name System (DNS). Therefore, the MX record has been changed.

When using the Cloud Pre-filter service, redirect the MX record based on your account datacenter.

  • US: im.emailsecurity.trendmicro.com
  • EU: prefilter.emailsecurity.trendmicro.eu
 
When the long FQDN was changed to the shorter FQDN, even though each domain’s recommended MX records are different, the resolved IP address is still the same: 150.70.226.147.
