Before manually loading a component, try the automatic methods first. If the automatic methods fail, do the following:
  1. Open the ScanMail configuration database.
  2. Go to Actions > Manual Update > Source.
  3. Make sure you have selected Replicated database as the manual update source.
To manually load the components:
  1. Download the latest pattern file.
    1. Download the server.ini.
    2. Open the server.ini and get the value of "Path_VSAPI". The value is the file name of the latest pattern available in Trend Micro Active Update.
    3. Combine the "http://smln-p.activeupdate.trendmicro.com/activeupdate/" and the value of "Path_VSAPI" in the server.ini. This will be the download link for the latest pattern.
      For example:
      Path_VSAPI=pattern/vsapi271.zip, 46633190
The Virus Pattern link will be:
      http://smln-p.activeupdate.trendmicro.com/activeupdate/pattern/vsapi271.zip
  2. Open the downloaded zip file and extract the latest virus pattern.
  3. Delete the old versions of the pattern files from the pattern directory (.../trend/SMD/pattern/vsapi).
  4. Open the ScanMail Update Database.
  5. Click Virus Pattern File and then click Edit.
  6. Modify the pattern version.
  7. Attach the latest version pattern file to the Pattern file field.
  8. Click Save & Close.
  9. Run the command below to load the SMDupd on the Domino server console:
    load SMDupd
