Summary
If you install InterScan Web Security Virtual Appliance (IWSVA) in a DMZ, the internet connection via the IWSVA is very slow, unless you open port 135 from the IWSVA in inbound direction. Learn why IWSVA requires port 135 to communicate with the clients.

The WMI daemon must connect to the Windows machine using port 135. This port must not be blocked by a firewall and the connection must be held open.
The IWSVA uses port 135 to cache the user information. If the port is not open, IWSVA needs to do an authentication process with Active directory for each request.
Customer can disable this WMI feature to avoid IWSVA from connecting to the client:
  1. Log in to the IWSVA shell as root.
  2. Run these two (2) commands:
    su enable
    configure module ldap trans_auth disable
