The Smart Scan Pattern is not updated because the update URL it is using is incorrect. You need to check the AU.ini file and the URL it is updating from.
For example, the update URL you are using when you received the error is:
DefaultAUServer=http://beta.external.trendmicro.com/activeupdate/icrc
This URL may be for a WFBS 9.0 beta user.
The default and correct update URL should be:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Trend Micro\Secuirty Server\PCCSRV\wss
To resolve the issue, change the update URL to the correct URL.
  1. Create a backup of the AU.ini file.
  2. Modify the AU address to the following:
    DefaultAUServer=http://wfbs90-lspn20-p.activeupdate.trendmicro.com/activeupdate/
  3. Restart the WFBS Master Service.
  4. Perform another update. The update should be completed and the Smart Scan Patterns should be updated successfully.
