"Unable to update the Widget Pool" appears in OfficeScan (OSCE) Management Console

Summary
A notification stating that "New widgets are ready to be updated" shows in the OfficeScan Management Console. However, when you click the Update Now button, the following error appears:
Unable to update the Widget Pool. The Widget Pool is currently being updated. Only one Widget Pool update process can be performed at a time. Please try again after the update in progress completes.

To resolve the issue, reboot the server or wait for more than 48 hours before updating.
If the error still appears, follow the procedure below as this issue can be related to permissions.
Important: For virtual machine (VM) users, take a snapshot or save the current state of the VM first before doing this procedure. In addition, back up the OfficeScan database.
  1. Open a command prompt and navigate to the ..\PCCSRV folder.
  2. Run the commands below:
    Svrsvcsetup.exe -setprivilege
  3. Go to ...\PCCSRV\Web_OSCE\Web_console\HTML\widget directory.
  4. Right-click the Repository folder and select Properties.
  5. On the Security tab, check Permissions.
    Admin : Full
    System : Full
    Everyone : RWX
    IUSR : Modify
  6. Go back to command prompt and type the following command:
    icacls "C:\Program Files (x86)\Trend Micro\OfficeScan\PCCSRV\Web_OSCE\Web_console\HTML\widget" /T C:\widgetACL.txt
  7. Update the Widget Pool again and it should update now.
