Getting log files for SafeSync for Business in Mac OS X

Retrieve logs needed to troubleshoot SafeSync for Business (SSFB) in Mac OS X. The logs that need to be gathered when troubleshooting are:

  • System Profiler
  • ClientLog
  • State Files

Do the following to get the log files needed to fix issues in SafeSync in Mac OS X:

  1. Retrieve the System Profiler logs using any of the following methods:

    Using the Menu bar

    1. Click Go, then select Utilities.

    2. Click System Profiler.

    Using the Applications folder

    1. Open the Applications folder on the Dock.
    2. Go to Utilities, then click System Profiler.

    Using the Spotlight

    1. Type “System Profiler” in the Spotlight field.

    2. Press Return.

    Using About This Mac 

    1. Click the Apple Menu and select About This Mac

    2. Click More Info.

  2. Save the System Profiler log file.
    1. Go to File and select Save File.
    2. On the File Format dropdown list, select Rich Text Format(RTF).

      You can use Notepad to open the log file.
  1. On the Menu bar, click Go and then select Home.
  2. Go to Library > Logs > Trend Micro > OSDP.
  1. On the Menu bar, click Go and then click Home.
  2. Go to Library > Application Support.
  3. Look for the email address you use to login to your SafeSync account.
    Example: abc123@yahoo.com.store
  4. Right-click or control-click the email address and then select Show Package Content.
  5. Look for the following files:
    • state.local
    • state.remote
