"TMCM cannot connect to the following URLs…" error message appears when using the HTTPS connection in Control Manager (TMCM)

The error message appears when the single sign-on (SSO) timeout is too short:

To resolve the issue, make sure that at least TMCM 6.0 Service Pack (SP) 2 is installed. TMCM 6.0 SP2 contains a hot fix that allows users to configure the timeout value for the SSO process based on the current network conditions. The default timeout value of 2 seconds will remain unchanged until users configure the new key, which then takes priority over the default value.

After installing TMCM 6.0 SP2, do the following:

  1. On the TMCM 6.0 home directory, open SystemConfiguration.xml.
  2. Locate the "m_iSSOConnectionTimeout" key and set your preferred value in seconds.
     
    Setting the key to "0" or deleting the key sets the timeout value to 300 seconds. The maximum timeout value is 999 seconds and if you set any value larger than the number, CM will use the timeout value 300 seconds.
  3. Save the changes and close the file.
  4. Restart the IIS service.
