“Please choose a different online folder” error appears when syncing an online folder paired with a different local folder

You receive the following error message when you try to sync an online folder that is already paired with a different local folder:

“Please choose a different online folder. This online folder is already connected with another folder."

To resolve this issue, stop the ongoing sync and follow these steps:
  1. Check if you have the latest Trend Micro SafeSync installed:
    1. Double-click the Trend Micro SafeSync icon on your desktop or in your system tray.
    2. Click Configure.
    3. Click the Updates tab.
    4. Look for the Compile Version.
      The version should be “5.1” or higher. If the version shows “5.0” or lower, Upgrade your Trend Micro SafeSync to the latest version.
  2. Go to Start > All Programs > Trend Micro SafeSync > SafeSync Settings.
  3. Click the Sync tab.
  4. Click the line connecting the local folder and the online folder you want to unsync.

    Unsync your folders
    You should now be able to connect a different local folder to your desired online folder.
