“Unable to complete update” appears when performing a manual update of the Security Agent in Worry-Free Business Security (WFBS)

The Security Agent manual update may fail due to server or network problems. You can proceed with your update by following the steps:
  1. Stop OfficeScan in IIS:
    1. Open IIS Manager.
    2. Expand Web Sites and right-click OfficeScan and then click Stop.
  2. Stop the associated AppPool:
    1. Open IIS Manager.
    2. Click Application Pools.
    3. On the Application Pools page, select the application pool associated to the OfficeScan site.
    4. Right-click AppPool and click Stop.
  3. Go to the ...\Security Server\PCCSRV\Web\CGI folder.
  4. Look for the isapiClient.dll file and rename it to isapiClient.dll.old.
  5. Rename the isapiClientX86.dll file to isapiClient.dll.
  6. Start the associated AppPool:
    For IIS 7 or 7.5
    1. Open IIS Manager.
    2. Right-click the OSCE website and then select Properties.
    3. Go to Home Directory tab.
    4. In the Application Pool, you will see the associated application pool name.
    For IIS 8 or 8.5
    1. Open IIS Manager.
    2. In the Connections pane, expand the Sites node in the tree and then select the OSCE website.
    3. In the Actions pane, choose Basic Settings to open the Edit Site dialog box.
    4. Click Select to open Select Application Pool dialog box and you will see the associated application pool name.
  7. Right-click the AppPool and click Start.
  8. Start the OfficeScan site in IIS:
    1. Open IIS Manager.
    2. Expand Web Sites and right-click OfficeScan site and then click Start.
  9. Right click the Security Agent and select Update Now.
