Unable to upload Data Loss Prevention hot fixes or critical patches after applying the critical patch for XSS and CSRF attacks

Summary

You cannot upload a Data Loss Prevention hot fix after applying the critical patch for preventing the cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks and cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attacks.

The following error message appears when uploading a hotfix or critical patch file:

Uploading file format is wrong

The following are the related critical patches:

  • dlp-56-en-criticalpatch-b1143.zip
  • dlp-56-jp-criticalpatch-b1145.zip
  • dlp-55-en-criticalpatch-b1443.zip
  • dlp-55-jp-criticalpatch-b1443.zip

To resolve the issue:

  1. Contact Trend Micro Technical Support to get the appropriate tool for your DLP version.
  2. Extract the files and upload to the following DLP server location:

    /home

  3. Log in to the DLP server.
  4. Run the appropriate command for your DLP version:

    python /home/UpdatePatchType_.py

    For example, python /home/UpdatePatchType_55EN.py
    The following message should appear when the process is completed:

    Process done

You can now upload the new hot fixes or critical patches.
