The following message appears during ServerProtect installation for Microsoft Windows/Novell Netware:
Control Manager exists, uninstall this first
The error occurs when there is a remnant registry for Control Manager after attempting a ServerProtect for Microsoft Windows/Novell Netware installation.
When you try to install ServerProtect and select three installations, you are prompted to install the agent. If you choose Yes, the security key file will be asked. Cancelling the installation leaves the registry entry TrendMicro Control Manager Agent.
The registry entry prevents the information server from being uninstalled and assumes that the agent is installed even if it is not. Once you remove the entire registry key, uninstallation should work normally.
To resolve the issue, manually uninstall the ServerProtect for Windows/Novell Netware 5.8.
