To resolve this:
- Request for the SMEX Cleanup Tool from Technical Support.
- Copy the corresponding script file for your platform to the target server.
- Open a Command prompt and go to the folder where the script is installed.
- Run the following commands to remove the traces of SMEX from your computer:
32bit - Smex100Cleanup32.vbs /Path:[SMEXPATH]
64bit - Smex100Cleanup64.vbs /Path:[SMEXPATH]where SMEXPATH = the installation directory of SMEX for Exchange.
As an example, cscript SMEX100CleanUp32.vbs /Path:"C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\SMEX". - Verify if SMEX folder still exists inside the Trend Micro folder. Manually delete it if it does.
- Reinstall SMEX.
