From the OfficeScan web console, you can navigate to Updates > Networked Computers > Automatic Update and you can enable the Let clients initiate component update when they restart and connect to the OfficeScan server option.
Even when this setting is activated, there are instances when the clients still fail to update once they are reloaded.
This scenario is based on our product design. The server will only notify the clients to update when the following configurations are both met:
- The option Let clients initiate component update when they restart and connect to the OfficeScan server is enabled. To verify that this setting is activated, the parameters below should appear in the ofcscan.ini file:
- The program or pattern versions of the following items in the client should be different from the versions in the server.
- Service Model Check
- VSAPI Engine version
- [iCRC] pattern info (for Smart Scan)
- SSAPI engine version
- SSAPI pattern
- Aegis driver version
- Aegis service version
- Aegis pattern version
- TSC program
- TSC pattern
- CTA program
- CFW pattern/engine
- AV+AS pattern
- intelliTrap pattern (WhitelList/BlackList)
- NCIE CNP pattern
This means that even when the Let clients initiate component update when they restart and connect to the OfficeScan server option is enabled but the versions of programs or patterns between the client and server are the same, the update will not be executed.
