Sometimes, a Deep Security Virtual Appliance (DSVA), which runs on ESXi host with VDI Resource Pool, may fail to update pattern files.
Upon checking the resource pool shares settings, the DSVA is set to a value lower than High.
The issue occurs when the VMware Resource Pool settings are set to prioritize any VDI virtual machine (VM) rather than DSVA. In such scenario, DSVA is left with no resources causing the pattern update to fail.
If you need to set Resource Pool Shares Reservation in a VDI network, configure the DSVA to receive a high share. This will ensure the security of your environment.
