To manually uninstall an EAC agent:

  1. Click Start > Run and type “services.msc” in the search field.
  2. Stop the EAC Agent Service from the Services console.
  3. Open the Registry Editor.

Always back up the registry before making any modifications. Incorrect changes to the registry can cause serious system problems.
  4. Delete the following registry keys:
    • HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\acagentservice
    • HKLM\SOFTWARE\TrendMicro\Endpoint Application Control Agent
    • HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\
      • {E2DF18AD-DE12-4E64-9993-44D68F923C78} //for x86 OS
      • {F9E31109-4EF1-4A1A-81CD-128E88AA2394} //for x64 OS
    • HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products\{GUID} //Generated by installer (randomized). Find "Trend Micro Endpoint Application Control Agent" to know the correct GUID of the Products registry key to be deleted.

  5. Remove the following folders and files:
    • folder %ProgramFiles%\Trend Micro\Endpoint Application Control Agent
    • folder %AppData%\Trend Micro\AcAgent
    • folder %ProgramData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Trend Micro Endpoint Application Control Agent
  6. Restart the machine.

The EAC 1.0 agent should now be uninstalled.

Manually uninstalling an agent requires disabling its Agent Self-Protection feature before AC Agent registries, files, and folders can be deleted. Please contact your Trend Micro Technical Support Representative for assistance on how to remove this version’s EAC agent.
