Deep Security Manager (DSM) service cannot start after RHEL 7.2 system boot up

    • Updated:
    • 5 Feb 2016
    • Product/Version:
    • Deep Security 9.0
    • Deep Security 9.5
    • Deep Security 9.6
    • Platform:
    • Linux - Red Hat RHEL 6 64-bit
Summary

When RHEL 7.2 system boot up, the DSM service will not start. This happens because systemctl cannot read symlinks to SysV init service scripts in /etc/init.d. The scenario occurs after upgrading to RHEL 7.2 systemd-219-19-el7.

However, Red Hat stops the support for SysV init service scripts and suggests to migrate to systemctl. Before the next patch release, Trend Micro provides a workaround in this article.
