Collecting debug logs in InterScan Web Security Virtual Appliance (IWSVA)

  1. Enable debug logging via the CLI command [configure module log verbose http enable] below:

    [root@IWSVA-6 ~]# clish

    > enable
    Entering privileged mode...

    enable# configure module log verbose http enable

    Restarting the InterScan HTTP daemon...
    Please wait while the InterScan Web Security Suite daemon is being checked...ok

    enable# exit
    Leaving privileged mode...

    > exit

  2. To enable packet capture:

    1. On the IWSVA console, go to Administration > Support > Network Packet Capturing tab.

    2. Under step 1, click Add All.

    3. Click Start Capturing.

  3. Replicate the issue with end user client.
  4. Once the issue has been replicated, click on Stop Capturing to stop the network packet capture.

  5. Turn off verbose log via the CLI command [configure module log verbose http disable] below:

    [root@IWSVA-6 ~]# clish

    > enable

    enable# exit

  6. To generate a System Information File and Download the System Information file:

    1. On the IWSVA console, go to Administration > Support > System Information Files tab.

    2. In Step 1, click Generate System Information File.

    3. Download the Network Packet capture file and CDT from the IWSVA console, and send them to Trend Micro Technical Support.
