OSCE XG GM was released on October 17, 2016. This article discusses the following related questions:
- Will Trend Micro support OSCE XG installations on older Microsoft (MS) Windows versions such as Server 2003 and Windows XP?
- What are the risks of installing and running OSCE on these older operating systems?
Trend Micro will discontinue its support for applications or operating systems running with Trend Micro products when support for the underlying versions of the applications or operating systems are ended by their suppliers.
Installing OSCE XG on Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, or older versions is not advisable as they are no longer supported by Microsoft. They are now End-Of-Life (EOL) and End-Of Support (EOS). For more information on that, refer to the following articles:
OfficeScan provides Trend Micro Security for Mac (TMSM). Refer to the TMSM Installation Requirements document for more information.
Due to some coding and development timing issues, installation of OSCE XG (server and agent) on Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP will not be blocked. However, some features will not perform as expected. Installing on these platforms is entirely at your own risk.
