Remote installation of OSCE XG cannot proceed because the target machine does not appear on the list of available machines, even though the target server fulfills the system requirements for OSCE XG.

This issue occurs when one or more required services are stopped on either the source machine (i.e. the machine the installer is run on) or the target machine (i.e. the remote server). Make sure that the following services are all started when attempting a remote server installation:

  • Source Machine (where the installer is executed):
    • Computer Browser Service
  • Target Machine (where the server components will be installed):
    • World Wide Web Publishing Service
    • Remote Registry Service
