This article shows you how to change the version of TMMS 9.7 from Full version to Security Scan-only version.

This procedure works for AirWatch and other Mobile Device Management (MDM) vendors.

Requirements

The following requirements/conditions should be met before proceeding:

  • Mobile Security for Enterprise 9.7 version or later
  • The communication server is configured to either Local Communication server or Cloud Communication Server.

After making sure that the requirements/conditions are met, click on the applicable option below for further instructions:

To switch to Security Scan-only mode with AirWatch, follow the steps below:

  1. Remove all of the iOS agents from the MDM server.
  2. From the web console, go to Administration > Deployment Mode, then choose Security Scan.

  3. Choose if the Enable Data Synchronization should be ticked or not. Below is the comparison table:

  4. "Use preset Enrollment Key" setting should be enabled.

  5. Configure the AirWatch settings. Refer to this article: Configuring the auto-launch function of the Mobile Security (TMMS) for Enterprise Android agent using AirWatch.

To switch to Security Scan-only mode, follow the steps below:

  1. Remove all of the iOS agents from the MDM server.
  2. From the web console, go to Administration > Deployment Mode, then choose Security Scan.

  3. Do either of the following:
    • For Android devices, do the following:
      1. Click Save to change the deployment mode to Security Scan only.
      2. Under the Deployment Settings page, go to the Android Agenttab.

      3. Choose the applicable settings. Below is the comparison table:

        Google PlayDevice user needs to manually enroll the agent to TMMS server. However, the agent can be updated automatically.
        TMMS serverDevice user can download from TMMS server manually.
        Auto EnrollmentDevice user can auto-enroll the agent to TMMS server, but needs to download from the TMMS server manually. The APK file is customized, which contains the Server IP and port.
    • For iOS devices, do the following:
      1. Under the Deployment Settings page, go to the iOS Agent tab.
      2. Tick Enable support in iOS app version (for iOS 7.1 or later). Complete the following steps.

      3. Sign the IPA file. For instructions, refer to Signing the Mobile Security for Enterprise client using an Apple Developer Enterprise Certificate .
