Deleting a host from the MogileFS

Summary

Due to unfinished high availability (HA) deployment, an unnecessary host exists in MogileFS. As a result, the following error message appears in the host:

osdp-store2 ... REQUEST FAILURE

Details

To resolve the issue, keep only one host:

  1. Identify which host causes the issue by checking the status of Mogile File System.

    sudo mogadm check

    In sample scenario below, osdp-store2 encountered the issue.

  2. Run the command below to list down all the available hosts of Mogile File System.

    sudo mogadm host list

  3. Delete the host which encountered the error.

    sudo mogadm host delete osdp-store2

  4. List all the hosts again using the command below:

    sudo mogadm host list

  5. Check again the status of Mogile File System. The faulty host should now be removed.

    sudo mogadm check
