OSCE Web Reputation Service (WRS) protects endpoints against web threats. Sometimes, plug-ins of communication applications provide powerful functions that could trigger detection. When using the Video Conference/Conference Call/Desktop Share plug-in of Skype for Business, WRS might block the connection.
When users run Skype for Business, multiple processes are established and each of them may have web access. To prevent them from being blocked by OSCE, it is recommended to add these processes to the WRS whitelist. WRS contains a hidden function to set it up.
To prevent any process blocking issues:
- Identify Skype for Business processes (.exe). Processes may vary per version. Below are some related processes that could be blocked.
- Add processes related to Skype for Business to the WRS whitelist. Go to following link for more information: Configuring Tmproxy Whitelist to exclude application processes from Web Reputation Service (WRS) scanning.
