Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable fails to install in silent mode on Windows Server 2008 SP2. When executing SMEX 12.5 installation package on Windows Server 2008 SP2 that does not have Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Runtime Library installed, the system environment checking fails. This causes the installation failure, displaying the following error:

To resolve this, on Windows Server 2008 SP2, install Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable for both x86 and x64 version manually:
- Download the ScanMail for Microsoft Exchange 12.5 Full Installation Package.
- Extract the installation package to a temporary folder, and find Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable x86 and x64 installation packages.

- Execute Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable x86 and x64 installation packages to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 runtime library on the server.
- Install ScanMail for Microsoft Exchange 12.5 again by executing Setup.exe.
If the above procedure does not resolve the issue, do the following:
- Obtain a copy of the installation logs:
- Collect installation-related logs from the server where Setup.exe is executed:
%SystemRoot%\TEMP\setup.log
- Collect installation-related logs from the server where ScanMail is installed:
%SystemRoot%\TEMP\instDetectServerRoleType.log
%SystemRoot%\TEMP\instSetupHelper.log
%SystemRoot%\TEMP\MsiExec.log
%SystemRoot%\TEMP\RIFRemoteInstallAgent.log
%SystemRoot%\TEMP\SMEX_MSIInstall-SMEX.log
%SystemRoot%\TEMP\SqlSetup.log (Local DB)
\Trend Micro\Smex\SMEX_DatabaseCreation.log
- Collect installation-related logs from the server where Setup.exe is executed:
- Compress the files using WinZip and apply the password, "trend".
- Send the files to Trend Micro Technical Support.
