Deep Discovery Analyzer (DDAN) 1100 appliances reboots randomly on older BIOS firmware versions when upgraded to DDAN 6.0

Some DDAN 1100 appliances are experiencing reboots on older BIOS firmware versions when upgraded to DDAN 6.0

There have been a limited number of these spontaneous reboots reported where DDAN appliance (R730XL Poweredge models), experience reboots up to every 10 minutes.

In cases where these reboots have been observed, the resolution is to upgrade to the latest BIOS firmware version from DELL.

For the firmware upgrade, download the DELL ISO using the following link: R730.

To install these firmware updates, you need to boot the appliance from the above .ISO

DDAN 1100 v1 runs on Poweredge R730XL

 
  • Follow the prompts and wait until all the components are updated.
  • During the upgrade process, it is possible to see errors which is expected due to the possibly missing hardware.
   
  • It is also common that the server shuts down for up to 30 minutes while upgrading the power supply firmware.
   
  • The server must NOT be disconnected from power during this time.

Instances of this issue are rare and a BIOS firmware upgrade is only recommended when these issues are observed.
