"Control Manager service has stopped" error message appears in the dashboard

Summary

The database has been restored from a backup copy. A new SQL server has been created with the same name and instance, but the database does not connect.

After logging into the console, the following eror message displays in the Control Manager (TMCM) dashboard:

The Control Manager service has stopped. On the server hosting Control Manager, open the Services panel to try and restart the service. If the issue persist, please contact you support provider.

Upon further checking, the Control Manager services are not running. Attempting to start the services may succeed, but it will then stop in a few seconds.

The issue occurs because the SQL Server verifies the authenticity of the login ID using the Active Directory Integrated Authentication.

To resolve this issue, set SQL Server Authentication to Integrated Windows Authentication.
