Disabling Instant Messaging (IM) Security application for Lync or Skype for Business (SfB)

    • Updated:
    • 29 Jun 2018
    • Product/Version:
    • Instant Messaging Security 1.5 MS LCS
    • Instant Messaging Security 1.5 MS OCS
    • Platform:
    • Lync Server 2010
    • Lync Server 2013
Summary

When the IM Security application is set to "disabled" in Lync or the SfB Control Panel, IM traffic is directed to Lync/SfB while bypassing IM Security scanning. This can be used to allow IM traffic to flow when troubleshooting issues relating to Instant Messages or the IM Security product itself.
