Cannot update license information after renewing the activation code of Trend Micro Mobile Security for Enterprise

Summary

After renewing the activation code (AC), the license information of Trend Micro Mobile Security (TMMS) for Enterprise failed to update. This issue may happen because the License Update URL found in the TmOMSM.ini file is incorrect.

This issue has been fixed in Mobile Security for Enterprise 9.8 Service Pack 1 Patch 1. If you are using an older version, upgrade to the latest patch to resolve the issue.

Alternatively, you can modify the TmOMSM.ini file to update the license information:

  1. Go to the Mobile Security for Enterprise installation folder, and open the TmOMSM.ini file using a text editor.
  2. Find the line for "Prserver".
  3. Change the URL, from https://licenseupdate.trendmicro.com/ollu/license_update.aspx to http://licenseupdate.trendmicro.com/ollu/license_update.aspx.
     
    The change in the URL is only from HTTPS to HTTP.
  4. Save the changes.

After making the changes, the license information can now be successfully updated.
