InterScan Web Security Virtual Appliance (IWSVA) sends the following email notification despite turning off the "Enable FTP scanning" feature in FTP > Scan Rules:
IWSVA scanning is disabled No scanning modules are loaded or enabled for FTP. IWSVA will run, but traffic will not be scanned.
If LDAP setting is already disabled, you shouldn't use User/group name via proxy authorization for User Identification.
This article will discuss what the notification means and how to stop it.
The notification occurs when FTP scan service restarts with Enable FTP scanning disabled.
The scheduled pattern/engine updates cause the restart of the service and might also cause this notification.
It notifies the user that FTP scanning does not work, which does not mean any defect for IWSVA.
If you do not need neither FTP scanning nor the notification, turn off FTP Traffic in System Status.
This will make the FTP scan service to no longer start, therefore stopping IWSVA from sending the notification.
