“Cannot read monitor.ini configuration file...[errcode: 411]" message appears when running a query for the reputation services of Smart Protection Server (SPS)

Summary

When doing a query for the Web Reputation or File Reputation, the following error message appears:

Cannot read monitor.ini configuration file. Verify if the file exists or check the file permissions. [errcode: 411].

This issue can happen if the monitor.ini file is missing. Check if the file exists in the /var/tmcss/conf directory.

If the file is missing, do the following steps:

  1. Login to SPS via ssh and log on as root
  2. Run the following command simultaneously:
    touch /var/tmcss/conf/monitor.ini
    chown webserv:webserv /var/tmcss/conf/monitor.ini
    /usr/tmcss/bin/status_check.sh ALL
  3. Check the console if the issue still persists.

If the monitor.ini file is present on the /var/tmcss/conf directory, or if the issue persists, get additional assistance by contacting Trend Micro Technical Support.
