Auto-provisioning of Mobile Security for Enterprise with managed configuration for Android Enterprise

Some third-party MDM solutions support Android For Work, which is also known as Android Enterprise. This article shows how Trend Micro Mobile Security (TMMS) for Enterprise can support auto-deployment under Android For Work.

Before configuring the auto-provision, the following pre-requisites for your third-party solution (i.e. MobileIron or AirWatch) should be met:

  • MobileIron or AirWatch server has configured Android for Work.
  • TMMS is connected to MobileIron or AirWatch server.
  • Android device OS is version 7.0 or above.

Select the third-party solution below to view the complete procedure:

  1. Make sure the Android agent has installed the MobileIron agent.

  2. On the web console, go to Apps > Add > Google Play.
  3. Search for "tmms" and select Enterprise Mobile Security, and then tap Next.
  4. Tap the Next button to enter the Apps@Work Catalog page.
  5. Under "Enabling apps for Android enterprise will make them available in Google Play", tick Install this app for Android enterprise.
  6. Expand Default Configuration for Enterprise Mobile Security and enter the following TMMS auto-enroll details:
    • Enrollment: Enroll
    • Server: (communication server IP or CCS address)
    • Port: 443 (or other port configured on the TMMS server)
    • Enrollment Key: xxxxxxxxxx (check the key from the TMMS server)

  7. Tap the Finish button.
  8. In the App Catalog page, select Enterprise Mobile Security.
  9. Go to Action > Apply to labels, and select a label to apply.
  10. Verify if the TMMS agent is automatically deployed to the Android device. Alternatively, you can manually install it from the MobileIron App Store.
  11. Launch the TMMS agent. It will automatically enroll to the TMMS server.
  1. Make sure the Android agent has installed AirWatch agent.

  2. Go to AirWatch > Apps & Books > Applications.
  3. Navigate to Native > Public.
  4. Click Add Application.
  5. Search for "tmms" and select Enterprise Mobile Security.
  6. Tap Save & Assign.
  7. Tap Add Assignment.

  8. Enable Application Configuration and enter the following details:
    • Enrollment: Enroll
    • Server: (communication server IP or CCS address)
    • Port: 443 (or other port configured on the TMMS server)
    • Enrollment Key: xxxxxxxxxx (check the key from the TMMS server)

  9. Tap the Add button.
  10. Select the group and tap Save & Publish.
  11. Tap the Publish button.
  12. Verify if the TMMS agent is automatically deployed to the Android device. Alternatively, you can manually install it from the AirWatch App Store.
  13. Launch the TMMS agent. It will automatically enroll to the TMMS server.
